Washington’s recent climate auction results show continued stability

We’re proud to see this. Washington's Climate Commitment Act is a high-water mark in a world that needs more like this. Tribes had a crucial role in shaping it and getting it passed into law. They brought us in early to help them learn how to design a policy that works, both for people and for nature. Then they got it done. Washington has embraced a central principle of good carbon pricing policy: the money from that price goes into building solutions for reining in climate pollution, increasing resilience, and helping people deal with climate-amplified problems like mega-fires and floods. Kudos to the Tribal leaders and many allies who put a shoulder to this wheel. May their good example inspire and spread.
